Extra Credit
Honors english has been pretty good this year. Besides the presentations in front of the class all the assignments have been fun and interesting. My favorite part was reading To Kill a Mockingbird. It was a good book and i actually understood it. I didn't like poetry out loud very much just cause it had to do with going in front of the class.

The first scene in the book that would be a fun skit to watch is the scene where Pip learns that the convict Magwitch is the person that has been giving Pip the money. It happens on a late stormy night when the convict shows up at Pip's house and Pip is very surprised to see him there. As soon as Pip finds out, he is overcome with guilt that he left Joe to follow the convicts wishes. This scene is an important part in the book.
Another scene that would be interesting to watch is the conversation between Pip and Drummle at the coffee shop. They both act so childish fighting over their spot in front of the fire. They act nice to eachother but only cause they feel forced to. They seem to stand their for an hour just silently fighting over thier spot and this would be funny to watch.
The last scene that would be really funny to watch is when Miss Havisham catches on fire. She starts out talking to Pip and she catches on fire and pip saves her and burns his own hands to save her life.

One thing that confused me was the significance of Mr. Jaggers showing Pip Molly's wrist. On page 214 in chapter 26 it talks about Mr. Jaggers grabbing Molly's wrist to show Pip something important but it was just her wrists and it doesn't seem to tie in with anything else in the book so why did he do this?

This quote is referring to the bad things that happened to Pip on the day he first met Miss Havishams and Estella and how he lied to Joe and his sister about it. After realizing what he had done and realizing the effect his lying had on Joe, he learned he should stop lying and this helped to further develope who he is today.
An event in my life that had a chain effect was the first time I played on a soccer team. I came to really love playing and after I realized I liked playing soccer, I decided I would try other sports since soccer was so much fun. Because I first started playing soccer, I tried all different sports and enjoyed them a lot.

In my body paragraphs, I wrote about the three couples and how they react to each other. The main point I make in my paragraph is that opposites attract. Although they are attracted to each other they all have different interests and attitudes towards life. The quotes I used for concrete details were on pages 27, 41, and 52. They show how the couples are opposites. Each of these quotes help to further explain the topic of opposites attract. For the commentary parts of my parapraphs, I further explained my point of view on each couple and how they can be viewed as opposites but they still attract. I also tied in to that how Oscar Wilde uses literary elements to describe each couple.

After researching the victorian era, it helped me understand the lifestyle of the people in that time period and it helped me compare the things I learned from my notes with the book. I found that there is a big difference between the upper and lower class. Since Algernon is in the upper class, he is treated differently then his servant Lane. Although they are both respected, Algernon is respected more because of his wealth and social standing.
I also found that the roles of men and women were very different in the victorian era and the book. Women were expected to do things around the house while men were in charge of bringing in the money and being social. In the book when Gwednolen and Jack want to get married, it is Jack and Gwendolen's mom who make the overall decision of whether they end up together or not even though Gwendolen is the one getting married.
